The checkpoint was conducted on eastbound Route 27 Service Road at Route 112 in Patchogue from 11:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16 until around 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17.

Suffolk County Police arrested seven people during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Patchogue last night and this morning.

A total of 431 vehicles went through the checkpoint.

The following people were charged with driving while intoxicated, according to police:

  • George Meadows, 59, of Shirley
  • Maureen Novak, 61, of Naples, Florida
  • James McPeak, 63, of Mattituck
  • Stephen Termini, 28, of Mastic
  • Daniel Acevedo, 27, of Shirley

The following person was charged with driving while ability impaired by a combined influence of alcohol and drugs:

  • Raven Gonzalez, 29, of Shirley

The following person was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol:

  • Rosanna Iorio, 34, of Mastic Beach

Those charged are scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Saturday, Aug. 17.

Police officers from the Suffolk County Police Department Highway Patrol Bureau’s Selective Alcohol Fatality Enforcement Team (SAFE-T) conducted the checkpoint, which was part of on-going summer enforcement operations targeting impaired driving due to alcohol and/or drugs
